DJ-SLT-UK 's opinion on websites abusing the musician's rights

How many websites must an artist/producer or dj get sucked into before they find the right one that doesn't rip the funding that the artist has saved up to use and promotion material totally away from their accounts.

The problem i think is that most of the music social networks get alot of traffic so they are only to happy to promote already big name artist's and give them all the rights of passage rather than put the squeeze on them and allow unknown artists more chances of being played/heard or promoted..........so before you go to a site which promises the world for artists.......remember they don't actually mean YOU!

As much as i would love to name website's i will reframe from doing so, however please feel free to use this blog as a whistleblower blog so other artists that are struggling to compete with the already successful artists.....have some idea where not to go and be drained of all monies they have saved for their promotions.

Im interested to know what everyone else has experienced including listener's.......

Thank you Kindly In Advance

About DJSLTUK

Simon B Chappell aka DJ-SLT-UK was born 16/09/1970 in Wales. From an early age Simon really became comfortable with learning to play musical instruments but was'nt until the early eighties when he heard the Streetsounds Electro-Hip-Hop compilation ablums that he got involved in mixing breakdance tapes for the local breakdance crews. Back then he only used one turntable and a portable ghettoblaster to create unique remixes from the streetsounds ablums. A fews years later as Acid House & Chicago House started getting into the mainstream, Simon knew he had to learn to use 2x turntables and a cross-over mixer to which he did rapidly.

Towards the late eighties Simon's family & himself migrated to Adelaide,Australia where the new dance music craze that took over most of Europe had not yet started. So loaded up with Chicago/Detroit House & Acid House before leaving launched DJ-SLT-UK onto the local club scene djing in such clubs as; Heaven, Black II Black, Le Rox, Mars Bar, Church, Stix, Ambassadors, The Planet, Q-Bar to name a few. Playing Various music sets from Hip-Hop,House Music,Electro,Break-Beat,Trance,Club,Hardcore,R'n'b and many others genre's of music.

A decade later or so DJ-SLT-UK decided it was time to create & perform his own music & has since performed overseas in the Philippines and middle-east with great success.

Now in 2011 DJ-SLT-UK is looking forward to releasing his upcoming and long awaited album 'SILK' which has been a decade in the making. The songs will be available for single purchase download or the whole 30 song album un-mixed & dj friendly.
