Do you find it hard to get people to give your music a chance?

I think it's important to be in a lot of different places. Have a personal website, facebook fan page, twitter page, and be on a lot of different music sites. It's a lot of work, but there are a lot of artists out there so it takes a lot to be seen. Another little extra thing you can do is have a youtube channel with updates. If you can put together a cool video with your music you have a chance to get a lot of views. Make sure in the youtube video info section that you have links to your website or other pages. 

 Tumblr is pretty great for promoting. It's quite decent for uploading music and keeping people up to date on your work. The re-blog function really makes it great for reaching a wider audience as well. Eg. You post a song, some listens and likes it, so they repost it. It's really perfect for distribution of your work.

The latest stat I heard is that it takes a year to 18 months of blogging/social networking to really build up a web presence.  Keep at it Im sure something will break free for you.
