Formed from the ashes of pioneering electropop band T-Lazarus, GENDER ID are front man Gene, guitarist Daniel and bassist Gneszka and performed their debut gig in St Petersburg in 2006. Despite only having performed two gigs at the time, GENDER ID were named “Best New Band” by Time Out St Petersburg in 2006 and went on to win “Best Live Act” and “Best New Band” at the Russian Fulldozer Awards. In the same year they shared the stage with the legendary ‘Sparks’ at the Stereoleto Festival and recorded their debut album Home Kids and Bathroom Romance. 2007-2008 saw the band continue to promote Home Kids and Bathroom Romance and support bands such as Alpinestars and White Rose Movement, both hailing from the UK. In mid 2009, the band supported ‘Ladytron’ at their Moscow and St Petersburg concerts, co-headlined with Finnish band ‘I Was A Teenage Satan Worshipper’ in St Petersburg and headlined the FUTURE SOUND OF RUSSIA festival. 
In January 2010 GENDER ID released single ‘My Name is Severin’ that got into heavy rotation on various radio stations. In September 2010 GENDER ID were invited to play support for Placebo (UK). 
At the moment the band is finishing their new album and playing rare shows showcasing tracks from the upcoming LP.
