Lady Gaga Says Iron Maiden Changed Her Life 05.29.11

Lady Gaga has been public about her love for Iron Maiden on Twitter, but now she has revealed more in an interview with Rolling Stone about her latest experiences enjoying the heavy metal legends in concert. She attended the April 11th Maiden show in Tampa, Florida and left her private box to share a moment in public with fellow concert-goers:

"We went down during 'The Number of the Beast' and when we got there ... we just booked it into the center of the crowd. We were dancing and singing and everyone was just so into it. And it was one of the first times I've been able to just be at a rock concert in a long time."

Luckily for the pop star, Maiden fans were very accepting of her:

"People did recognize me, but it was so kind and warm and awesome ... I'm a pop singer - I didn't know what it would be like in a crowd of Maiden fans; everybody was hugging me, high-fiving, fist pumps in the air... 'Oh, it's so cool you're at Maiden.' Jumping and dancing... I mean, it was like absolute no judgment, no prejudice, freedom and love for music. It doesn't matter who you are... It was just awesome ... Maiden changed my life.”

Despite a lack of metal-cred in Lady Gaga’s pop tunes, that hasn’t stop some overeager remixers to create their own metal-Gaga hybrids (see below). Now fans can experience metal and pop in harmony, for better or for worse.
